Benjamin Butler Letter to Henry A. Wise
One page letter in response to President Wise's claim for the college of William and Mary to receive war repararations caused to the property during the Civil War. Butler's response to Wise was that the filed claim was not approved by Congress.
Chapman House Collection
This collection includes fliers containing descriptions of movies playing in the Colony Room of the Chapman House at the College of William and Mary in 1957, including the Chapman House Movie Revival Series.
Thomas Putnam Chapman, Jr. Papers
Collection of letters, cards, ephemera, and personal items belonging to Thomas Putnam Chapman, Jr. A large portion of the letters are written to his family from his time spent as a student at the College of William and Mary. Included with Thomas' letters are letters from his father and other family members. This collections is currently in processing and is not fully available to researchers. This 1929 copy of the 1694/1698 Granting of Arms to the College of William and Mary from the College of Arms in London is enclosed in a plexiglass mount. At the top of the document are four arms: the College of William and Mary, an unknown one, the King's, and the College of Arms.
